Leeds United will lock horns with Cardiff City, on Sunday evening, bidding to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup as they take to the road. The Whites come into the match on the back of a 2-2 draw against West Ham United in their last outing, so they will be looking to produce a better result this weekend.
Jesse Marsch could opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a couple of changes to the starting XI for this game. Jack Harrison will make his way back into the final third replacing Crysencio Summerville in the left-wing spot while Diego Llorente could play from the start as Robin Koch makes way after taking a spot on the bench.
4-2-3-1 Leeds United Predicted XI Vs Cardiff City
Defence
Illan Meslier will continue to feature in goal for the West Yorkshire club after conceding two goals in his last Premier League appearance. Liam Cooper will form the customary centre-half partnership with Diego Llorente at the heart of Marsch’s defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the game.
Rasmus Kristensen will replace Luke Ayling as the right-back while Pascal Struijk keeps his place on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would be eager to get forward to stretch the opposition in the final third.
Midfield
Marc Roca and Tyler Adams will continue to anchor the midfield for Leeds United as they focus on making life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park. They will also have to find a way to create some decent plays for their teammates in the opponent’s half.
Brandon Aaronson will act as the advanced attacking midfielder tasked with creating enough chances in the final third and setting up his teammates in front of the goal.
Mateusz Klich will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if Marsch opts to call upon their services.
Attack
Jack Harrison will operate as a left-sided wide player while Wilfried Gnonto hopes to catch the eye on the right flank. Both of them need to be at the top of their game if Leeds are to grab a win away from home this weekend.
Rodrigo Moreno will act as the focal point of the Yorkshire club’s attack. The Spaniard has to find ways to pose a threat in front of the Newcastle goal.
Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their opportunity to catch the eye as impact substitutes if required.
