Madueke’s Impressive Form In The Eredivisie
Madueke is enjoying a decent season at PSV after putting in a few influential displays on the right side of their attack. The London-born sensation has banged in two goals in nine matches for the Dutch outfit during this campaign across multiple competitions.
Madueke has caught the eye with his performances in the final third based on his average of 2.4 tackles, 3.4 shots, 2.6 key passes and 2.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Dutch Eredivisie. The 20-year-old has even been tidy when distributing the ball in the opposition half as he has made 82.5% of his attempted passes in the Dutch top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at PSV will expire in the summer of 2025. Hence, Chelsea would have to make a serious offer if they want to lure him to Stamford Bridge before the end of this month.
Is Madueke A Good Choice For Potter?
Madueke is a decent tackler of the ball and can make a few promising runs with the ball out on the flanks. He has got the eye to play a decisive pass on the attacking end of the field and can shoot the ball with venom and precision from long range. Madueke usually operates on the right wing but can also function as a centre-forward if his manager asks him to do so.
However, the English whizkid is still quite raw and would need time to develop into a top talent at the highest level.
Still, there is no denying that Madueke will be a good choice for Chelsea boss Graham Potter to consider during this January transfer window.
At 20, the English winger has got a lot of room to grow as a footballer and could prove himself to be a success story at Stamford Bridge in the long run. Thus, Potter should try everything in his power to bring him to the West London club as he is already good enough to serve as a sporadic presence in his match-day squad. Furthermore, Madueke could even help the Blues challenge across all competitions this season if he can settle into life in English football quickly.
