Aston Villa welcomed Leeds United at Villa Park earlier tonight as they looked to earn maximum points at home in the Premier League. The Villans made a bright start to the game and scored the opening goal in the third minute courtesy of Leon Bailey’s effort. The West Midlands club went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
Emiliano Buendia doubled his team’s advantage in the 64th minute. However, Leeds got a goal back via Patrick Bamford’s finish in the 83rd minute. Still, Unai Emery’s men ended up grinding out an impressive 2-1 win at home.

The Argentine keeper made a few solid saves at the back but will be disappointed after conceding a late goal.
RB: Ashley Young – 7/10
He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field but offered very little in the final third.
CB: Ezri Konsa – 7.5/10
Konsa didn’t do much wrong at the back and won a couple of aerial duels.
CB: Tyrone Mings – 6.5/10
He cleared his lines when needed and was a strong presence in the air.
LB: Lucas Digne – 6/10
Digne got replaced in the ninth minute.
RM: Leon Bailey – 8/10
He scored an early goal and was a constant menace on the right wing.
CM: Douglas Luiz – 8/10
Luiz anchored the midfield well for Aston Villa and was good on the ball as well.
CM: Boubacar Kamara – 7.5/10
The French talent got stuck in with some solid tackles and ended the game with an assist to his name.
LM: Jacob Ramsey – 7/10
Ramsey came back to defend when needed and made two good chances in the final third.
ST: Emiliano Buendia – 8/10
He performed his defensive duties well and made one good run with the ball. Buendia was responsible for scoring his team’s second goal after the hour mark.
ST: Ollie Watkins – 6/10
He was quiet for most of his time on the field and was replaced in the 31st minute.

He had a good game at both ends of the field after coming on in the ninth minute.

Ings came back to defend when required but failed to register a goal.
