Aston Villa entertained Wolverhampton Wanderers at Villa Park earlier tonight as they focused on securing a win at home. The Villans made a poor start to the game as they shipped in the opening goal in the 12th minute when Daniel Podence got his name on the scoresheet. Unai Emery’s men struggled to mount a comeback and went into the half-time interval 1-0 down on the scoreline.

However, the Villans showed some fight in the second half and got themselves back in the game when Danny Ings scored the equaliser in the 78th minute. The contest ended with Aston Villa being held to a 1-1 draw in the Midlands derby.

Let’s take a look at how each Aston Villa player performed during the match against Wolves.

GK: Emiliano Martinez – 6.5/10

The Argentine keeper made a couple of decent saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet tonight.

RB: Ashley Young – 6/10

He made one important clearance at the back but got replaced at half-time.

CB: Ezri Konsa – 6.5/10

CB: Tyrone Mings – 7.5/10

He earned the ball back twice and made a lot of crucial clearances at the back. Mings picked up an assist for setting up Ings’ equaliser as well.
