Arsenal will lock horns with Manchester City at the Etihad on Friday night, hoping to pick up a positive result in the fourth round of the FA Cup competition. The visitors will be coming into the match on the back of an encouraging 3-2 victory over arch-rivals Manchester United, whereas the Citizens recorded a 3-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Mikel Arteta will probably opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation with a couple of changes from the last game as Matt Turner looks likely to make his way back into the starting eleven.
4-2-3-1 Arsenal Predicted Lineup Vs Manchester City
Defence
Matt Turner will operate in between the sticks for the upcoming away encounter. The USA international would hope to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Friday.
Gabriel Magalhaes will form the centre-half partnership with William Saliba at the heart of Arsenal’s backline.
Oleksandr Zinchenko is a guaranteed starter at the left-back position, whereas Ben White might fill in on the other flank as the right-back. The duo would be looking to stretch the opposition backline and create meaningful chances for the frontmen.
Midfield
Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey will fulfil the holding midfield positions, with the former occupying a more defensive role. Martin Odegaard will slot into the attacking midfield role.
Odegaard will be accompanied by Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka on either side, playing on the left and right-wing, respectively.
Attack
Eddie Nketiah will lead the line for the visitors against Manchester City on Friday. The 23-year-old striker will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net when he faces off against the City defence that has conceded six goals in their last five matches across all competitions.
Leandro Trossard will have to settle for a place on the bench, but he might be called upon in the latter stages of the game if needed.
