Spain clashed heads with Morocco at the Education City Stadium as they hoped to secure a positive result in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Spaniards made a decent start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at half-time.

It was a similar story in the second 45 minutes as both teams canceled each other out. The match finished 0-0 at the full-time whistle.

Luis Enrique’s men pushed on in search of the winning goal in extra time but were denied by some resolute Morocco defending. The contest finished scoreless after extra time.

Spain ended up suffering a heartbreaking loss after being beaten 3-0 on penalties.

Gavi struggled to get a foothold in the game and could last only 62 minutes.

He anchored the midfield well at times but missed a crucial penalty in the shootout.

Pedri earned the ball back twice and had some lively moments in the final third.

Torres struggled to get into the flow of the game but made one good run with the ball.

Fati injected some pace into Spain’s attack.

He hit the post late in the game and missed Spain’s first penalty in the shootout.
