In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Real Madrid are eyeing a move for RCD Mallorca forward Vedat Muriqi this winter. It has been revealed that Los Blancos are hoping to launch a move for the Kosovan attacker this January.
Muriqi’s Decent Numbers At Son Moix
Muriqi has produced a run of consistent performances as the focal point of Mallorca’s attack during this campaign. The 28-year-old has found the back of the net eight times and provided one assist in 12 matches for the Madrid outfit this season in multiple competitions.
The Prizren-born talent has proved himself as a decent performer by averaging 1.6 clearances, 3.1 shots and 1.0 key passes per 90 minutes in La Liga. However, he has been sloppy when distributing the ball in the final third after making only 61.1% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top tier (stats via whoscored).
Muriqi’s current contract with Mallorca is set to run out in the summer of 2027. Hence, Los Blancos would have to make a big offer if they want to lure the Kosovan talent to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium during the January transfer window.
What Will Muriqi Add To Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti’s Team?
Standing at 1.94m, Muriqi is a strong presence in the air and can come back to clear the danger for his team when needed. More importantly, he is proficient at generating space for himself to get a few strikes in on target and can create some inviting chances for his teammates on the attacking end of the field.
We can expect Muriqi to add more goals to Carlo Ancelotti‘s attack. He could serve as an ideal understudy to Karim Benzema at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. At 28, Muriqi is playing some of his best football at the moment and would no doubt increase competition for places within Ancelotti’s match-day squad. He has got a wealth of experience under his belt and could serve as a useful presence in Real Madrid‘s dressing room. However, he won’t be a long-term solution to Los Blancos’ goal-scoring needs.
The Kosovan sensation could even help Los Blancos continue their dominance in both domestic and European football in the coming seasons as long as he can make a smooth transition to Ancelotti’s playing style at the Bernabeu. Thus, the Madrid club should consider going all out to bring Muriqi on board when the transfer window reopens at the start of next year.
