Manchester City entertained Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to earn a positive result at home in the last 16 stages of the Carabao Cup. Pep Guardiola’s men made a bright start to the game and got their noses ahead in the tenth minute courtesy of Erling Haaland’s goal. However, Fabio Carvalho equalised for Liverpool just ten minutes later with a fine finish. Both teams went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.

Riyad Mahrez scored a good goal in the 47th minute which was canceled out by Mohamed Salah’s composed strike just one minute later. Nathan Ake ended up netting the winning goal in the 58th minute as Man City secured a narrow 3-2 win in front of their home fans.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester City player performed during the match against the Reds.

GK: Stefan Ortega – 6/10

He hardly had anything to do in the game but will be disappointed after conceding two goals tonight.

RB: Rico Lewis – 6.5/10

Lewis performed his defensive duties well but offered very little going forward.

CB: Aymeric Laporte – 6.5/10

The Spanish talent made some important defensive contributions during the game but failed to keep a clean sheet in both halves.

CB: Manuel Akanji – 5.5/10

He struggled to get a foothold in the game and was replaced at the hour mark.
