Manchester City entertained Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to earn a positive result at home in the last 16 stages of the Carabao Cup. Pep Guardiola’s men made a bright start to the game and got their noses ahead in the tenth minute courtesy of Erling Haaland’s goal. However, Fabio Carvalho equalised for Liverpool just ten minutes later with a fine finish. Both teams went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.
Riyad Mahrez scored a good goal in the 47th minute which was canceled out by Mohamed Salah’s composed strike just one minute later. Nathan Ake ended up netting the winning goal in the 58th minute as Man City secured a narrow 3-2 win in front of their home fans.
