Liverpool locked horns with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a win in the Carabao Cup. The Reds made a sloppy start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the tenth minute when Erling Haaland found the back of the net. However, Fabio Carvalho equalised for the Merseyside club just ten minutes later with a controlled finish as the two sides went into the half-time interval with a 1-1 scoreline.
Riyad Mahrez gave Man City their lead back in the 48th minute but it lasted for just a minute as Mohamed Salah equalised for Liverpool.
Man City pushed on and scored the winning goal in the 58th minute when Nathan Ake got his name on the scoresheet with a good header. The contest ended with the Reds suffering a hard-fought 3-2 loss at the Etihad.

Carvalho scored Liverpool’s equaliser in the first half with a decent strike.
