France faced off against Morocco at the Al Bayt Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a victory and book a place in the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The French players made a quick start to the game and scored the opening goal in the fifth minute courtesy of Theo Hernandez’s effort. Didier Deschamps’ men sat on their lead well and went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
France defended their narrow lead well in the second half and managed to kill the game off in the 79th minute when Randal Kolo Muani scored from close range. The match ended with the European nation earning an impressive 2-0 win in Qatar.

He anchored the midfield with conviction and made a couple of decent chances in the final third.
CM: Youssouf Fofana – 7.5/10
Fofana offered enough protection for his teammates at the back and was a threat in the final third.

He showed a few flashes of what he is capable of but there was no goal for him today.
CAM: Antoine Griezmann – 8/10
Griezmann worked hard defensively and won some free kicks for his team. He also engineered some good chances for his teammates up top.
LW: Kylian Mbappe – 7.5/10
Mbappe struggled to get into the flow of the game at times in the first half. However, he produced an influential display in the second and played a big role in the lead-up to Kolo Muani’s goal.

He was a menace inside the Morocco penalty box and was unfortunate to hit the crossbar.
