Rodri And Alba Get 7.5 | Spain Players Rated In Entertaining Draw Vs Germany

Spain faced off against Germany at the Al Bayt Stadium earlier today as they hoped to earn another positive result in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Spaniards made a dominant start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.

Alvara Morata came off the bench and finally netted the opening goal in the 62nd minute when he scored with a brilliant finish. However, the Germans equalised in the 83rd minute courtesy of Niclas Fullkrug’s powerful strike. The contest ended with Spain being held to a 1-1 draw in Qatar.

Let’s take a look at how each Spain player fared during the match against Germany.

GK: Unai Simon – 7/10

The Spanish keeper made a few important saves at the back but couldn’t do much about Fullkrug’s excellent finish late in the game.

RB: Dani Carvajal – 6/10

He earned the ball back once and was tidy with his passing.

CB: Rodri – 7.5/10

Rodri gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and engineered one good chance going forward.

CB: Aymeric Laporte – 6.5/10

He made a couple of crucial defensive contributions and was accurate with his ball distribution.

LB: Jordi Alba – 7.5/10

Alba did his fair share of defending and engineered a couple of decent chances in the final third. He has got an assist to his name for setting up Morata’s goal.

CM: Gavi – 6.5/10

The Barcelona midfielder got stuck in with some solid tackles but failed to influence the game in the final third.

CM: Sergio Busquets – 6.5/10

Busquets tried his best to anchor the midfield for Spain and had two lively moments in the opponent’s half.

CM: Pedri – 6.5/10

He earned the ball back twice and completed one good dribble with the ball.

RW: Ferran Torres – 6/10

Torres lacked quality in front of the German goal and was replaced early in the second half.

ST: Marco Asensio – 6/10

The Spaniard had a couple of bright moments in the game but never looked like he would score.

LW: Dani Olmo – 6.5/10

Dani Olmo had some bright moments in the game and was too selfish in the final third.


ST: Alvara Morata – 7/10

Morata made an instant impact off the bench and scored the opener with a great finish.

CM: Koke – 6/10

He added some energy to Luis Enrique’s midfield.

RW: Nico Williams – 6/10

Williams made one decent run with the ball.

LB: Alejandro Balde – N/A

He got some valuable minutes under his belt.
