Valverde And Asensio Get 9 | Real Madrid Players Rated In Comfortable Win Vs Celtic

Real Madrid welcomed Celtic at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to secure another win in the UEFA Champions League. Los Blancos made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the sixth minute courtesy of Luka Modric’s penalty. Rodrygo doubled the home team’s advantage from the penalty spot as well just 15 minutes later. Real Madrid went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.

Marco Asensio made it 3-0 to Los Blancos in the 51st minute before Vinicius Junior got his name on the scoresheet just ten minutes later. Federico Valverde added another goal in the 71st minute when he found the back of the net with a perfect finish. Jota got a goal back for Celtic late in the game but Real Madrid ended up securing a comfortable 5-1 win at home.

GK: Thibaut Courtois – 8.5/10

The Belgian keeper made a lot of crucial saves at the back and did enough to restrict the opposition to just one goal.

RB: Dani Carvajal – 7/10

He cleared his lines when needed and engineered a couple of decent chances in the final third.

CB: Eder Militao – 7/10

Militao put his foot through the ball at times and was accurate when passing the ball out from the back.

CB: David Alaba – 6.5/10

He kept things solid at the back but got replaced after the hour mark.

LB: Ferland Mendy – 6.5/10

Mendy made a few important defensive contributions and made one key chance going forward.

CM: Federico Valverde – 9/10

He anchored the midfield with conviction and engineered a few meaningful chances in the final third. He has got a goal and an assist to show for his efforts.

CM: Toni Kroos – 7/10

The German talent got stuck in with a couple of solid tackles and made one good chance in the opponent’s half.

CM: Luka Modric – 7/10

Modric got his name on the scoresheet early in the game from the penalty spot.

RW: Marco Asensio – 9/10

The Spaniard did his fair share of defending and was a constant menace in the opponent’s half. He got his name on the scoresheet early in the second half.

ST: Rodrygo – 8/10

Rodrygo caused a lot of problems for the Celtic defenders and registered a goal once again from the penalty spot.

LW: Vinicius Junior – 8/10

He had his fair share of promising moments in the final third and ended the game with a goal to his name.

The Frenchman was a threat inside the Celtic penalty box.
