Manchester United welcomed Aston Villa at Old Trafford earlier tonight as they looked to earn a positive result in the third round of the EFL Cup. The Red Devils were dominant in the first half but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time break.
Ollie Watkins scored for the Villans just three minutes into the second half. However, Man United equaliser courtesy of Anthony Martial’s effort just one minute later. Diogo Dalot scored an unfortunate own goal in the 61st minute.
Still, the Red Devils were far too strong for the West Midlands club and equalised once again just six minutes later when Marcus Rashford found the back of the net. Bruno Fernandes completed the turnaround by scoring a goal in the 78th minute before Scott McTominay put the match to bed with his goal in injury time.
