In a recent report from Manchester Evening News, it was mentioned that Manchester City are currently contemplating making a move for Toni Kroos of Real Madrid. It is understood that the German veteran’s contract with Los Blancos expires at the end of this season and the Etihad club is ready to offer him a higher wage than his current employers.
Kroos’ Campaign With Real Madrid This Season
Kroos has had a brilliant start to this campaign as he has put in several influential displays at the centre of the park for the Madrid giants. He has found the back of the net on one occasion and created four assists over 16 appearances across all competitions so far.
The Greifswald-born talent has been consistent and reliable at the middle of the park after averaging 1.8 tackles, 1.1shots and 1.8 key passes per game in La Liga. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 94.6% of his attempted passes in the Spanish first division (stats via whoscored).
Should Guardiola Bring Him To Manchester City?
Kroos can get stuck in with some solid tackles to make life tough for the opposition in the midfield areas. He excels at distributing the ball to his teammates and can set up a few decent chances for his teammates in the opposition half by finding the gaps in the opposition backline.
The German midfielder has a knack for shooting the ball with power and accuracy from a distance and can even chip in with an odd goal from time to time. He has virtually won all the top titles there is to win at both international and club level, winning the World Cup with Germany in 2014 and five Champions League titles with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid respectively.
His arrival at the Etihad Stadium could add more depth to the midfield department and will bring more creativity to the attack. Kroos has got a wealth of experience and the winning mindset to help the Sky Blues achieve their goals while he brings more competition to the squad by becoming a vital player for the Mancunian giants.
