West Ham United welcomed Anderlecht at the London Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to earn a good result in front of their home fans in the UEFA Europa Conference League. The Hammers made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 14th minute courtesy of Said Benrahma’s free-kick. Jarrod Bowen doubled West Ham’s lead just 16 minutes later as West Ham were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Anderlecht scored a late consolation goal via Sebastiano Esposito’s successful effort from the penalty spot but David Moyes’ men ended up winning the contest by a narrow 2-1 scoreline.

Let’s take a look at how each West Ham United player fared during the match against Anderlecht.

GK: Alphonse Areola – 6/10

The Hammers’ goalie will be disappointed after conceding a late goal.

CB: Ben Johnson – 6.5/10

He tried his best to keep things solid at the back.

CB: Angelo Ogbonna – 6.5/10

The Italian defender didn’t do much wrong when defending inside his half but had to be taken off due to an injury in the first half.

CB: Aaron Cresswell – 7/10

Cresswell did his fair share of defending and made a decent chance in the final third.

RM: Vladimír Coufal – 6.5/10

He was a real threat going forward and didn’t do much wrong at the back.

CM: Manuel Lanzini – 6/10

The Argentine talent made a slow start to the game and failed to threaten the opposition goal.

CM: Flynn Downes – 7/10

Downes passed the ball with conviction and even got stuck in with some solid tackles.

LM: Emerson Palmieri – 7/10

He produced a matured display down the left flank and caused a few problems for the opposition defenders.

RW: Jarrod Bowen – 7.5/10

Bowen got his name on the scoresheet at the half-hour mark which gave West Ham enough cushion to go on and snatch the win.

ST: Lucas Paqueta – 7/10

He linked up play well with others around him but failed to register a goal tonight.

LW: Said Benrahma – 7/10

Benrahma found the back of the net with a great free-kick in the 14th minute. However, he was mostly quiet in the second half.

Substitutes:

CB: Craig Dawson – 7/10

Dawson picked up an injury that will concern Moyes.

ST: Pablo Fornals – 6/10

The Spaniard pressed the opposition well but lacked quality in the final third.

CM: Declan Rice – 6/10

He did well to fill in as a centre-back.

ST: Gianluca Scamacca – 6/10

There was no goal for him tonight.

CM: Tomas Soucek – 5/10

Soucek added some energy to West Ham’s midfield.
