In a recent report from Daily Express, it was mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur winger Heung-Min Son is considering an exit from North London as he hopes to take the next big step in his career. It is understood that Real Madrid have continued to keep tabs on the attacker since former Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti joined the Los Blancos and with several stars reported to leave Santiago Bernabeu at the end of this season, the Spanish giants can certainly make a bumper offer for the South Korean.
Son’s Recent Run Of Form For Tottenham Hotspur
Son has had a slow start to this campaign after winning the Golden Boot for his impressive campaign last season. He has struggled to retain his form having found the back of the net on five occasions and creating just two assists over 16 appearances, across all fronts.
The South Korean sensation is struggling to make an impact even though he is averaging 2.8 shots, 1,8 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per game in the Premier League. However, he has been tidy with his ball distribution after completing 79.9% of his attempted passes in the English top flight (stats via whoscored).
Should Conte Sanction His Exit?
Son has been an integral part of the team; as he can deliver when required and can put in some influential displays to turn things around for Spurs at the last minute. He is no doubt a skilful and talented player who can set up his teammates in front of the goal and find the back of the net on countless occasions.
The 30-year-old is one of the best attackers in Europe and is still in his prime. He can get past the defenders with his pace and agility. The South Korean international doesn’t mind taking shots from a long distance and can easily add more firepower to a club’s attacking department.
If Son joins Los Blancos in the next season it would definitely elevate his career and take it to another level, which would mean tremendous pressure and higher expectations. However, the Lilywhites will be reluctant to let him leave North London as his contract expires in 2025. As of now, Son should focus on getting back in form and helping Spurs attain their goals for this season.
