Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Newcastle United at St. James’ Park earlier this evening as they focused on securing a win at home in the Premier League. Spurs made a poor start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 31st minute when Callum Wilson scored with a tidy finish. Miguel Almiron doubled Newcastle’s advantage with a brilliant run and finish just nine minutes later as Spurs went into the half-time break 2-0 down on the scoreline.

Harry Kane pulled a goal back for the North London club in the 54th minute but the contest finished with Spurs suffering a 2-1 defeat in front of their home fans.

Let’s take a look at how each Tottenham Hotspur player fared during the match against the Magpies.

GK: Hugo Lloris – 5.5/10

The French keeper could have done better to prevent both of Newcastle’s goals. However, he did make a few solid saves at the back.

CB: Davinson Sanchez – 6.5/10

He put his foot through the ball when needed and was good on the ball as well.

CB: Eric Dier – 7/10

Dier made a lot of important clearances at the back and earned the ball back twice.

CB: Clement Lenglet – 7/10

Lenglet made one crucial interception during the game and picked up an assist for setting up Kane’s goal.
