Chelsea locked horns with Aston Villa at Villa Park earlier today as they hoped to earn a good result away from home. The Blues made an excellent start to the game as they got themselves ahead in the sixth minute courtesy of a cool finish from Mason Mount. Graham Potters’ men went into the half-time break with a 1-0 lead.

Chelsea sat on their lead well after the half-time break and doubled their lead when Mount scored again in the 65th minute with a well-taken freekick as the contest finished 2-0 in favour of the Blues.

Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player fared during the match against the Villans.

GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga – 8.5/10

The Spanish keeper made a lot of solid saves at the back and secured a well-deserved clean sheet on the road.

CB: Trevoh Chalobah – 7/10

He cleared the danger when needed and was accurate with his passing.

CB: Thiago Silva – 6.5/10

The Brazilian defender made a few important clearances at the back and did enough to restrict the opposition from scoring today.

CB: Marc Cucurella – 6.5/10

He kept things solid at the back in the first half but got replaced at half-time.

RM: Raheem Sterling – 6.5/10

Sterling had a few bright moments in the game. However, he didn’t do enough to find the back of the net.

CM: Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 6.5/10

He anchored the midfield well but lacked a cutting edge in the final third.

CM: Mateo Kovacic – 6.5/10

Kovacic worked hard at both ends of the field but failed to threaten the opposition goal.

LM: Ben Chilwell – 6/10

He earned the ball back once and was accurate with his passing.

RAM: Mason Mount – 8.5/10

The English talent was a constant menace in the final third and scored two good goals to win the game for Chelsea.

LAM: Kai Havertz – 7/10

The German caused a few problems for the Aston Villa defenders but didn’t do enough to get his name on the scoresheet. He was substituted at half-time.

ST: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 6/10

Aubameyang didn’t get a sniff at goal and did well to last 57 minutes.

CB: Cesar Azpilicueta – 7/10

The Spaniard kept a clean sheet in the second half.

CB: Kalidou Koulibaly – 7/10

He was solid when defending inside his half.

CM: Conor Gallagher – 6/10

He added some energy to Potter’s midfield.

CM: Jorginho – 6.5/10

Jorginho controlled the game well in the second half.

ST: Armando Broja – N/A

He hardly had any time to influence the game.
