Manchester City entertained Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium earlier today as they looked to secure a comfortable win at home in the Manchester derby. Pep Guardiola’s men made a bright start to the game and got their noses ahead in the eight-minute courtesy of Phil Foden’s impressive finish. Erling Haaland doubled Man City’s advantage with a solid header in the 34th minute and made it 3-0 just three minutes later with a stretched finish at the far post. Phil Foden killed the game off just before the half-time break when he found the back of the net from close range as Man City led 4-0 at the break.
Antony scored for Man United in the 56th minute with a stunning strike from long range. However, Guardiola’s players added two more goals to their tally as Haaland and Foden went on to complete their hattricks. Anthony Martial got some pride back for the Red Devils after he scored a late brace but Manchester City ended up cruising to a dominant 6-3 win in front of their home supporters.
