Bayern Munich will lock horns with Viktoria Plzen at the Doosan Arena this Wednesday night as they hope to secure a convincing win on their travels. The German outfit were held to a 2-2 draw versus Borussia Dortmund. Hence, we can expect them to be eager to get back to winning ways in the UEFA Champions League.
Julian Nagelsmann will set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make one change to his first team for this game. Ryan Gravenberch could get a chance to play from the start while Marcel Sabitzer makes way for him and drops to the Bayern Munich bench.
4-2-3-1 Bayern Munich Predicted Lineup To Face Viktoria Plzen
Defence
Manuel Neuer will operate in goal for the German club after shipping in a couple of goals in his last appearance. Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano will function as the centre-backs as they hope to maintain a solid defensive shape at the back during the 90 minutes.
Benjamin Pavard will operate at right-back while Alphonso Davies hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them need to be at the top of their game as they will be given the license to get forward at every chance they get.
Noussair Mazraoui will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Ryan Gravenberch and Leon Goretzka will anchor the midfield for the Bavarian giants as they try to dominate the ball at the centre of the park and orchestrate a few clear-cut chances in the final third.
The gifted trio of Sadio Mane, Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane will play just ahead of them as part of Bayern’s attack. Both Mane and Sane will hope to get in behind the Viktoria Plzen backline at every chance they get and deliver some decent service into the opponent’s penalty box.
Joshua Kimmich and Marcel Sabitzer will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if Nagelsmann decides to call upon their services.
Attack
Serge Gnabry will lead the line for the Bavarian outfit up top. He has to find a way to cause a few problems for the opposition defenders after failing to get his name on the scoresheet versus Dortmund last weekend.
Mathys Tel will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to impress in the final quarter of the game if required.
