Chelsea clashed heads with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park earlier today as they looked to earn a positive result in the London derby. The Blues made a poor start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the seventh minute when Odsonne Édouard found the back of the net. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang equalised for the West London club in the 38th minute as the two London sides went into the half-time interval with a 1-1 scoreline.

Conor Gallagher came off the bench and scored a wonderful goal for Chelsea in the 90th minute as Graham Potter’s men ended up securing a hard-fought 2-1 win on their travels.

Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player performed during the clash against the Eagles.

GK: Kepa Arrizabalaga – 6.5/10

The Spanish keeper made a couple of solid saves at the back and did enough to restrict the Eagles from scoring more than once.

RB: Reece James – 7/10

The English talent kept a solid defensive shape at the back and made two good chances in the final third.

CB: Wesley Fofana – 6.5/10

He made a handful of important interceptions at the back and was accurate with his passing.

CB: Thiago Silva – 7.5/10

The Brazilian centre-back kept things solid when defending inside his half and was fortunate to stay on the field. He picked up an assist for setting up Aubameyang’s goal.

LB: Ben Chilwell – 7/10

He did his fair share of defending but offered very little in the final third.

CM: Mateo Kovacic – 6/10

Kovacic made one crucial interception but failed to get a foothold in the game.

CM: Jorginho – 6/10

The Italy international was mostly ineffective in the first half and got replaced in the 55th minute.

RAM: Raheem Sterling – 6.5/10

He had a few bright moments in the game and was unfortunate to hit the crossbar.

LAM: Mason Mount – 6.5/10

Mount showed a few flashes of what he is capable of but failed to be decisive in the final third.

ST: Kai Havertz – 6.5/10

The German sensation had a few lively moments up top but struggled to register a goal.

ST: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 7/10

Aubameyang caused a few problems for the opposition and did well to get his name on the scoresheet in the 38th minute.

CM: Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 6/10

He added some energy to Chelsea’s midfield.

ST: Armando Broja – 6/10

Broja didn’t get a sniff at goal.

CM: Conor Gallagher – 7.5/10

He made a positive impact and scored the winning goal with a brilliant strike.

LAM: Christian Pulisic – N/A

Pulisic came off the bench and picked up an assist.
