Barcelona will face off against Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium this Saturday night as they look to earn a victory on the road. Barca suffered a disappointing 3-0 loss at the hands of Bayern Munich in midweek, so Xavi will expect a positive response from his men when they lock horns with Valencia in La Liga.
The Catalan club will set themselves up in a 4-3-3 formation with Xavi likely to make some tweaks to his first XI for this game. Jordi Alba, Eric Garcia and Gerard Pique could all get a chance to impress from the start in this league clash away from home.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Valencia
Defence
Marc-André ter Stegen will operate as Barca’s first-choice keeper despite shipping in three goals in his last outing. Gerard Pique could get a chance to play alongside Eric Garcia at the centre of the Barcelona backline as they try to keep the opposition attackers at bay during the game.
Hector Bellerin will focus on giving a good account of himself as the right-back while Jordi Alba hopes to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Both Barca full-backs will get the license to get forward and cause a few problems for the Valencia full-backs.
Marcos Alonso will be available for selection on Xavi’s bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Xavi will probably opt for a midfield comprised of Pedri, Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong for this clash on the road. Both Pedri and de Jong will have to carry most of the creative burden for the Catalan giants at the centre of the park.
Franck Kessie will have to settle for a place on the bench as he awaits his opportunity to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Raphinha might get the nod to catch the eye down the left flank while Ousmane Dembele tries to make a difference from the right.
Robert Lewandowski will lead the line for the Catalan outfit in the final third. The Polish centre-forward failed to register a goal in midweek and would be eager to put in a much-improved performance versus Valencia this weekend.
Ansu Fati will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Xavi opts to call upon his services.
