Tottenham Hotspur faced off against Sporting CP at the Jose Alvalade Stadium earlier this evening as they hoped to earn a positive result on the road. Spurs were solid in the first half and were held to a scoreless draw at half-time.
Sporting grew stronger as the game grew old and managed to get themselves ahead in the 90th minute via Paulinho’s header before Arthur made it 2-0 in injury time. Spurs ended up suffering a poor 2-0 loss away from home in the UEFA Champions League.

The French keeper made a few decent saves in the game but will be disappointed for conceding two goals late in the game.

The English centre-back made a few important clearances at the back and was strong in the air.
CB: Ben Davies – 6/10
He won a few crucial 50-50 aerial duels and cleared the danger when needed. However, he won’t be happy after allowing a couple of goals in the latter stages of the game.
RM: Emerson Royal – 7/10
Emerson did his fair share of defending and was a real threat in the Sporting half.
CM: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg – 6/10
He earned the ball back a couple of times and made one good run with the ball.
CM: Rodrigo Bentancur – 7/10
Rodrigo anchored the midfield with conviction and made a couple of decent runs with the ball.
LM: Ivan Perisic – 7/10
The Croatia international was a solid tackler at the back and made a few decent runs with the ball.
RAM: Richarlison – 6/10
Richarlison engineered two key chances in the final third but couldn’t take any of his chances.
LAM: Heung-min Son – 6.5/10
He caused a few problems for the opposition defenders but didn’t do enough to register a goal.
ST: Harry Kane – 6.5/10
The English striker had a few lively moments in the game but failed to find the back of the net.
