Newcastle United will lock horns with Manchester City in the home encounter this weekend on Sunday. The Magpies come into the match on the back of a lackluster draw against Brighton, hoping to get better results at St. James Park. Whereas, the Sky Blues are yet to concede a goal in this campaign as they recorded their second win last weekend against Bournemouth, defeating them 4-0.
Eddie Howe will once again stick with the 4-3-3 formation and could choose to make minimal changes to his squad.
Newcastle United 4-3-3 Predicted Line Up To Face Manchester City
Defence
Nick Pope will continue to operate in between the sticks for the Tyneside club as he looks to secure a clean sheet. Fabian Schar and Sven Botman will form the centre-half partnership in the heart of the Magpies’ backline.
Kieran Trippier will play at the right-back while Dan Burn hopes to give a good account of himself on the opposite flank. Both of them will have to stretch the opposition and create more opportunities from the wide areas.
Midfield
Howe’s midfield trio could comprise Joe Willock, Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton. They will be responsible for distributing the ball effectively and creating some clear-cut goal-scoring chances in the final third if the Magpies wish to clinch all three points against the Etihad club.
Ryan Fraser and Jacob Murphy might come on in the second half to impact the game if required.
Attack
Callum Wilson will lead the line and fancy his chances of finding the back of the net. Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin would provide support from the right and left flank, respectively. The latter will be asked to use his pace to cause trouble for the opposition and make life difficult for them.
