Newcastle United locked horns with Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium earlier today as they looked to secure a positive result on their travels in this Premier League game. The Magpies were solid in the first half and managed to get into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

Eddie Howe’s men struggled to engineer too many chances in the second 45 minutes. Both teams ended up canceling each other out and played out a 0-0 draw at the Amex Stadium.

Let’s take a look at how each Newcastle United player performed during the match against the Seagulls.

GK: Nick Pope – 7.5/10

The English goalie made a lot of important saves at the back and managed to secure an impressive clean sheet on the road.

RB: Kieran Trippier – 7.5/10

Trippier was solid when defending at the back and made one good chance in the final third.

CB: Fabian Schar – 7.5/10

The English defender made a lot of clearances inside his half and performed well enough to secure the clean sheet.

CB: Sven Botman – 7/10

Botman dealt with the danger when needed and won a few 50-50 duels in the air.

LB: Dan Burn – 7/10

Burn didn’t put a foot wrong when defending inside his half but offered very little in the final third.

CM: Joe Willock – 7/10

He anchored the midfield well but lacked quality in the Brighton half.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 6.5/10

The promising midfielder earned the ball back a couple of times and completed two good dribbles with the ball.

CM: Joelinton – 6.5/10

Joelinton worked hard when defending inside his half and made a few decent runs with the ball from midfield.

RW: Miguel Almiron – 6.5/10

The talented speedster made two encouraging runs with the ball and worked his socks off to protect his teammates at the back.

ST: Callum Wilson – 6/10

Wilson had a couple of bright moments in the game but failed to threaten the Brighton goal. He was quiet for most of the game.

LW: Allan Saint-Maximin – 6.5/10

The French talent made a handful of encouraging runs with the ball but never got a sniff at goal. He got replaced in the 74th minute.

LW: Jacob Murphy – 6/10

He added some energy to Eddie Howe’s attack but never looked like he would score.

CM: Sean Longstaff – 6/10

Longstaff was a bit sloppy on the ball.

ST: Chris Wood – N/A

He hardly had any time to influence the game after coming off the bench in the 86th minute.
