According to The Sun, West Ham United are reportedly looking to sign Paris Saint Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas. It is understood that the Costa Rican shot-stopper has fallen out of favour at the Parc Des Princes following the arrival of free transfer Gianluigi Donnarumma last summer. Napoli have submitted an offer, but the Hammers are looking to pay more in wages, so they currently lead the race for him.

Navas’ Campaign For PSG Last Season

Navas’ minutes were limited due to the arrival of Donnarumma but he still looked to make the most out of his appearances as he acquired eight clean sheets in 24 matches across all fronts.

Even though the 35-year-old fell down the pecking order, he still managed to distribute the ball showing excellent passing skills after completing 89.9% of his attempted passes in the French top flight.

Should Moyes Bring Him To West Ham United?

David Moyes has Alphonse Areola who will be featuring in the starting XI more often than last season and Dareen Randolph remains in reserve with Lukasz Fabianski, who’s been the main man in between the sticks for the Hammers in the past couple of years.

Keylor Navas could be a decent replacement for Fabianski who goes out of contract next summer and the former Real Madrid star still has a few years left in him to play at a high level.

He is agile and excels at handling the ball. The Costa Rica international comes out on crosses to eliminate any danger and has the ability to distribute the ball to his teammates even under pressure. His arrival at London Stadium could add more depth to that position and would definitely bring more competition. As for Navas, first-team football in the French capital seems difficult, so a move away from the French giants might be the only viable solution for him. Both parties might come to a conclusion early this week since the East London club is ready to pay more in wages than Napoli who are also tracking him.
