In a recent report, Defensa Central mentioned that Real Madrid are hoping to land Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane on a free transfer next summer. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are eyeing a move for the England international on a Bosman deal when his contract with Spurs runs out at the end of this campaign.
Kane’s Impressive Record At The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Last Season
Kane had another productive campaign at North London recently as he continued to perform at a high level while acting as the focal point of Antonio Conte’s attack. The 29-year-old banged in 27 goals and secured ten assists in 50 matches for Spurs last season on all fronts.
The London-born talent led the line well for Spurs after he averaged 3.6 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.5 dribbles per game in Premier League football. However, he was a bit untidy when linking up play with others around him in the final third, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 70.3% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Since Kane will become a free agent at the end of this season, it makes sense for Los Blancos to move in for him as he will strengthen their squad considerably for a few years.
Is Kane A Good Option For Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti?
Kane is proficient at engineering some space for himself to get a few shots in on-target. He remains a deadly finisher in front of the opposition goal and can create some decent plays for his teammates on the attacking end of the field.
At 29, the English sensation might still have a few good years left in him to play at his best. Hence, it is only logical for a club of the size of Real Madrid to snap him up on a free transfer next summer. The Tottenham frontman is a great leader and has got the right attitude to be a success story in the Spanish capital.
We can expect Kane to add a lot of goals and creativity to Carlo Ancelotti‘s frontline. He could even go on to form an incredible strike partnership with Karim Benzema at the Madrid club.
Kane will be an excellent option for Los Blancos as long as they can make enough room on their wage bill to acquire his services. However, it remains to be seen whether the Tottenham star can maintain his high standards in Spanish football.
