In a recent report, The Northern Echo stated that Newcastle United are ready to make a push for Red Bull Salzburg forward Benjamin Sesko this summer. It has been mentioned that the Magpies are eyeing a move for the Slovenian striker during this summer transfer period.

Sesko’s Recent Rise In Austrian Football

Sesko has made an electric start to this campaign after putting in a couple of productive performances as the focal point of Salzburg’s attack. The 19-year-old has registered two goals and one assist in three matches for the Austrian side this season across various competitions.

The Slovenian attacker has already shown a lot of promising signs while leading the charge for Salzburg during this campaign. Hence, it is no surprise that Newcastle are hoping to sign him this summer.

Newcastle United Set To Make A Push For Sesko: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Sesko has begun to prove his worth as a prolific finisher in front of the opposition goal. He has also got the eye to set up some decent chances for his teammates up top.

However, the Slovenian talent is still quite raw and would need time to establish himself as a top striker at the highest level. Newcastle are currently desperate to add more firepower to their attack. Thus, it makes sense for the Magpies to move in for Sesko as he will be a great signing for them in the long run.

At 19, the Slovenian wonderkid has the potential to become a future star in European football. Therefore, Eddie Howe should focus on trying everything in his power to get a deal over the line for Sesko this summer. He will undoubtedly give the Newcastle head coach more options in front of the opposition goal.

However, there are some concerns over whether Sesko can cope with the physical nature and high intensity of English football. Still, there is no denying that the Salzburg striker is a prospect to watch out for in the future which makes him a good, long-term option for the Tyneside giants to pursue before the end of this transfer window.
