Manchester United entertained Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford earlier today as they hoped to secure a positive result at home. The Red Devils were poor in the first half and conceded the opening goal in the 30th minute when Pascal Groß found the back of the net from close range. Groß made it 2-0 to Brighton just nine minutes later as Man United entered the half-time interval with a mountain to climb in the second half.

The home side were given some hope in the 68th minute as Alexis Mac Allister scored an unfortunate own goal. However, Erik ten Haag’s men were lackluster in the final third and crashed to a poor 2-1 loss in front of their home fans.

Let’s take a look at how each Man United player performed during the clash against the Seagulls.

GK: David de Gea – 6/10

The Spanish keeper made a couple of decent saves but will be disappointed after letting in two goals in the first half.

RB: Diogo Dalot – 6.5/10

Dalot did his fair share of defending and had a lively game in the Brighton half.

CB: Harry Maguire – 6/10

The English defensive ace earned the ball back a few times but failed to keep Danny Welbeck quiet throughout the match.

CB: Lisandro Martinez – 7/10

Martinez was solid when defending inside his half and was a threat at the other end as well.

LB: Luke Shaw – 6.5/10

The English left-back tried his best to keep things solid at the back and made two good chances in the opponent’s half.

CM: Scott McTominay – 5/10

He struggled to get a foothold in the game and got replaced in the 77th minute.

CM: Fred – 5.5/10

The Brazilian talent made two important interceptions but failed to influence the game in the final third.

RM: Jadon Sancho – 6.5/10

Sancho showed some flashes of what he is capable of but lacked quality in front of the Brighton goal.

CAM: Bruno Fernandes – 6.5/10

The Portuguese playmaker was always looking to set up his teammates but didn’t get too many sniffs at goal.

LM: Marcus Rashford – 5.5/10

He was a threat at times but didn’t do enough to find the back of the net.

ST: Christian Eriksen – 7/10

Eriksen did his best to lead the line on his own as a makeshift centre-forward. He linked up play well with others around him but failed to register a goal.

ST: Crisitiano Ronaldo – 6/10

He offered very little after coming off the bench.

CM: Donny van de Beek – 6/10

The Dutch sensation failed to get into the rhythm of the game.

LW: Anthony Elanga – N/A

He didn’t get enough minutes to warrant a rating.

LB: Tyrell Malacia – N/A

Malacia came on for the final few minutes of the game.

RW: Alejandro Garnacho – N/A

The youngster got some valuable minutes under his belt.
