In a recent tweet, CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs offered an update on Arsenal and their pursuit of Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer. It has been mentioned that the Belgian international is open to joining the Gunners if they can come to an agreement over a fee with the Foxes in this off-season.
If Arsenal reach an agreement with Leicester, told Tielemans will sign. But for now, #AFC haven't decided on him. The genuine interest from #MUFC may force Edu to make a decision quicker than expected, especially if ten Hag pitch proves appealing.

Tielemans’ Decent Form At Leicester Last Season
Tielemans had an up and down season at the King Power Stadium but did well to put in a handful of consistent displays at the centre of Brendan Rodgers’ midfield. The 25-year-old found the back of the net on seven occasions and secured five assists in 50 matches for the Foxes in the previous campaign across multiple competitions.
The Belgian international gave a good account of himself by averaging 2.3 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 1.1 clearances, 1.8 shots, 1.2 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per game in Premier League football. He even took care of the ball well at the centre of the park after making 83.5% of his attempted passes in the English top-flight (stats via whoscored).
Is Tielemans The Right Fit For Arsenal?
Tielemans can do a little bit of everything at the centre of the park. He can provide adequate protection for his teammates at the back and is proficient at making some intelligent runs toward the opponent’s penalty box.
The Belgian midfield ace has got the vision to cut open the opposition defence with a decisive pass and can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from midfield. He usually operates as a box-to-box midfielder but can even play as a defensive midfielder if needed.
Someone of Tielemans’ skillset will no doubt enhance the quality of Arsenal‘s starting XI. He would be a great fit for Mikel Arteta‘s style of play at the Emirates Stadium and could go on to form a dominant midfield partnership with Thomas Partey at the North London club in the coming seasons.
With all things considered, it makes sense for the Gunners to engineer a move to lure Tielemans to the English capital before the end of this summer transfer window.
