According to a recent report from the Mirror, Manchester City have received an official contract offer for Gabriel Jesus. The Gunners have made a move for the striker amid Tottenham Hotspur’s battle to acquire his services.

It is also understood that the Mancunian giants have rejected Arsenal’s initial transfer offer worth £35m and have set an asking price worth £50m. The Sky Blues will not let their asset exit for any less.

Jesus’ Campaign For Manchester City So Far

The Brazilian forward has had a decent record at Man City, scoring 95 goals over 236 appearances, and he has even helped them win four Premier League titles, four EFL Cups and the FA Cup in the last 5 and a half years.

Jesus had a solid campaign last season as well, as he managed to score 13 goals and create 12 assists over 41 appearances across all competitions. He has performed consistently in the final third after averaging 2.3 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per game, maintaining a pass completion rate of 84.8% in the English first division (stats via whoscored).

Should Jesus Exit The Etihad Club Based On His New Contract?

The Gunners have reportedly offered Gabriel Jesus a €16million per year contract which sums up to be around £264,000 per week, should he decide to move to the Emirates. The Gunners have decided to double the salary for him on top of which they’d have to pay £50m as the transfer fee which makes it the most expensive deal in their history.

Mikel Arteta plans to add more experience to his frontline and Jesus could inject a lot of goals into his attack. The Brazil international has an added champions league experience which makes him suitable for Arteta as he hopes to achieve a spot in the European competition in the next campaign.

Jesus is being accommodated with a hefty salary and he would be featuring regularly in Arteta’s starting XI. The 25-year-old would be a key player right from the getaway. Considering everything, it is a brilliant deal for everyone involved and Pep Guardiola would be wise to cash in without any delay.
