The Shields Gazette have mentioned in their report that Tottenham Hotspur could sell Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg showing him the way out. It has also been said that Newcastle United are showing keen interest in the Dane as Howe looks to bring more depth to the squad.

Emile-Hojbjerg’s Campaign for Tottenham Hotspur Last Season

Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg has had a solid campaign for the Lilywhites this season. He has produced a few influential displays in the central areas of the pitch. He has managed to score 2 goals and create 2 assists over 47 appearances across all competitions.

The Copenhagen-born sensation has done well to establish himself as a key player in Conte’s starting XI. He has averaged 2.2 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 1.4 clearances per game in the Premier League. A passing accuracy of 89.7% proves he is exceptional at distributing possession in the English top-flight (stats via whoscored).

Should Tottenham Boss Antonio Conte Cash In On Him?

The Denmark international is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can shoot the ball with power and precision from long range. He is proficient at creating a few decent chances for his teammates in the final third. He excels at distributing the ball in the midfield areas with proficiency.

Emile-Hojbjerg is not afraid to put his foot into a tackle and make some clever interceptions to win the ball back from the opposition. He can dominate the holding positions in the central areas of the pitch with a solid presence.

Antonio Conte would be wise to keep hold of him as at 26 he is only in his prime and would keep playing at the top of his potential for the next few seasons. He can help the Spurs in their charge for the Premier League crown. Selling him to Newcastle United would not be a good move considering the Magpies will also be looking for a top-four finish.
