Bremer’s Solid Campaign At Turin
Bremer was responsible for putting in a series of dominant displays at the centre of Torino’s defence last season. The 25-year-old made 33 appearances for the Italian club in the previous campaign, netting three goals and registering one assist in multiple competitions.
The Itapitanga-born sensation was a solid presence on the defensive third of the pitch after he averaged 1.5 tackles, 3.2 interceptions and 4.0 clearances per 90 minutes in Serie A football. He was even excellent when distributing the ball from the back after making 81.6% of his attempted passes in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).
Should Arsenal Head Coach Mikel Arteta Snap Bremer Up This Summer?
Bremer is a solid tackler of the ball and can spot the danger quickly to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and can use his powerful 1.88m frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air.
Therefore, the Brazilian centre-back will be a decent option for Arsenal to pursue in this off-season. Bremer is good enough to earn a regular starting spot in Mikel Arteta‘s squad.
At 25, the South American sensation’s peak years are ahead of him, so the Gunners can expect to make the most out of the Torino powerhouse’s services if they can devise a way to win the race for him during this summer transfer window.
However, there are some concerns over whether Bremer can maintain his good form in the Premier League where he might struggle to cope with the high intensity of English football. Still, the pros outweigh the cons of signing him. All in all, the North London giants should think about snapping Bremer up before the start of the new campaign as he could help them secure a top-four spot next season.
