Manchester City clashed heads with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to earn a good result on the road. Man City controlled the game well in the first half and went into the half-time interval with a goalless scoreline.

Riyad Mahrez made the opening breakthrough in the 73rd minute with a composed finish. However, Los Blancos rallied back courtesy of two late goals from Rodrygo. The contest finished with Los Blancos earning a 2-1 win after full-time but the tie was level 5-5 on aggregate.

Karim Benzema got his name on the scoresheet in the 95th minute from the penalty spot as Man City crashed to a 3-1 defeat after extra time (6-5 on aggregate) which knocked them out of the Champions League.

Let’s take a look at how each Man City player performed during the clash against Los Blancos.

GK: Ederson – 6/10

The Brazil international made a couple of saves but will be disappointed after conceding three goals in the latter stages of the game.

RB: Kyle Walker – 7/10

He deserves a lot of credit for keeping Vinicius Junior quiet for most of the game. He got replaced in the 71st minute.

CB: Ruben Dias – 6/10

He was solid for most of the 90 minutes but grew tired as the game wore on in the second half. Dias ended up conceding a penalty in extra-time which Benzema scored.

CB: Aymeric Laporte – 6.5/10

The Spaniard cleared the danger when required but still ended up conceding three goals in the latter stages of the contest.
