Everton welcomed Brentford at Goodison Park earlier today as they looked to collect maximum points at home and take one step closer towards ensuring their top-flight lives for another season. The Toffees made a good start to the game and got themselves ahead in the tenth minute when Dominic Calvert-Lewin found the back of the net. However, Jarrad Branthwaite was sent off by the referee just eight minutes later to put the Merseyside club at a numerical disadvantage. Brentford equalised in the 37th minute when Seamus Coleman scored an unfortunate own goal. The Toffees regained their lead just before the half-time break courtesy of Richarlison’s penalty.
The Bees made their numerical advantage count by scoring the equaliser in the 62nd minute as Yoane Wissa got his name on the scoresheet with a good header. Brentford completed the turnaround just two minutes later when Rico Henry scored with a powerful header. Salomon Rondon got sent off as well in the 88th minute as the Toffees crashed to a poor 3-2 loss at Merseyside.
