Everton faced off against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium earlier today as they hoped to end the season on a high by picking up a result on the road. The Toffees made a lackluster start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 27th minute when Gabriel Martinelli scored from the penalty spot. Eddie Nketiah doubled the home side’s advantage just four minutes later. However, Everton got a goal back in the first half injury-time when Donny van de Beek found the back of the net. The Toffees were trailing 2-1 at half-time.

Frank Lampard’s men were atrocious in the second half as they shipped in three more times courtesy of a goal each from Cedric Soares, Gabriel and Martin Odegaard respectively. The contest ended with the Merseyside outfit suffering a poor 5-1 loss in the English capital.

Let’s take a look at how each Everton player fared during the match against the Gunners.

GK: Asmir Begovic – 6.5/10

Begovic made a few decent saves at the back to keep the scoreline down.

RB: Alex Iwobi – 5.5/10

He made a few crucial clearances and had two lively moments going forward. However, Iwobi got exposed defensively while acting as a right-back.

CB: Mason Holgate – 6/10

The English defensive ace got stuck in with some solid tackles but couldn’t stop Arsenal from wreaking havoc in the second half.

CB: Michael Keane – 5.5/10

He was not shy of a tackle as well but looked shaky at the back during the 90 minutes.

CB: Jarrad Branthwaite – 6/10

Branthwaite was strong in the air and cleared the danger well at times. However, he couldn’t stop the opposition from scoring five goals today.

LB: Jonjoe Kenny – 6/10

Kenny worked hard defensively but offered very little in the final third.

RM: Demarai Gray – 5.5/10

He couldn’t take any of his chances and produced a lackluster display in the opponent’s half.

CM: Tom Davies – 6/10

Davies made a few important clearances but lacked quality on the ball.

CM: Abdoulaye Doucoure – 6/10

He was mostly ineffective in the early goings of the game and had to come off in the 36th minute.

LM: Dele Alli – 6/10

The English talent had a couple of bright moments in the game but never looked like he would score.

ST: Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 7.5/10

The English striker caused a few problems for the opposition defenders and has ended the game with an assist to his name.

CM: Donny van de Beek – 7/10

He came off the bench and scored a good goal. However, the Dutch midfield ace was mostly quiet in the second half.

LW: Anthony Gordon – 6/10

Gordon was a threat going forward.

CM: Isaac Price – 6/10

He got some valuable minutes under his belt.
