Chelsea welcomed Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge earlier today as they hoped to earn a good result in front of their home fans. Both sides canceled each other out in the first half as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

The West London giants finally broke the deadlock in the 56th minute courtesy of Romelu Lukaka’s penalty. The Belgian international doubled his team’s lead just two minutes later with a powerful finish. However, Wolves hit back in the 79th minute via Francisco Trincao’s goal. The West Midlands outfit ended up completing the comeback in injury time when Conor Coady found the back of the net. Chelsea were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw at the full-time whistle.

Let’s take a look at how each Chelsea player performed during the match against Wolves.

GK: Edouard Mendy – 6/10

He made a couple of good saves during the game but won’t be happy after conceding two late goals.

CB: Cesar Azpilicueta – 6/10

The Spanish talent was too slow to react to the danger and produced a lackluster display during his time on the field.

CB: Thiago Silva – 7/10

The Brazilian defended his penalty box with a lot of conviction and was a threat at the other end as well.

CB: Antonio Rudiger – 6.5/10

He was a rock at the back and was lively on the ball. Still, Rudiger won’t be pleased after failing to see out the win.

RW: Reece James – 6.5/10

James showed some glimpses of what he is capable of but lacked quality in the final third.

CM: Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 7/10

He anchored the midfield really well and made some decent runs with the ball.

CM: Mateo Kovacic – 6.5/10

Kovacic got stuck in with a couple of tackles and engineered two good chances in the Wolves half.

LM: Marcos Alonso – 6.5/10

The Spaniard was solid in the first half but got replaced at half-time.

CAM: Christian Pulisic – 7/10

He was always looking to create chances for others around him and ended the game with an assist to his name.

ST: Romelu Lukaku – 9/10

The Belgian international was a constant threat inside the opponent’s penalty area and scored two goals in the second half which was unfortunately not enough for Chelsea to win this game.

ST: Timo Werner – 7/10

He caused a few problems for the opposition but failed to register a goal.

Substitutes:

LM: Saul Niguez – 6.5/10

Saul made one good run with the ball.

CB: Malang Sarr – N/A

He hardly had any time to make an impact.

ST: Kai Havertz – N/A

Havertz came on for the final few minutes of the contest.
