On Thursday evening, Tottenham Hotspur will lock horns with Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, hoping to produce a positive result in a season-defining North London derby. The Lilywhites will be coming into the match after an encouraging 1-1 draw against Liverpool, whereas the Gunners recorded a stunning 2-1 victory over Leeds United.

Team News

Arsenal

Ben White has missed the club’s last two games with a tight hamstring, but Mikel Arteta is hopeful that the 24-year-old will shake off the issue in time to make himself available. Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney will watch on from the sidelines, with Takehiro Tomiyasu likely to deputise for the latter on the left once again.

Mikel Arteta will probably opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation with a couple of tweaks from the last game.

Arsenal Predicted XI

Ramsdale; White, Holding, Gabriel, Tomiyasu; Xhaka, Elneny; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Nketiah

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs remain without the services of Sergio Reguilon, Japhet Tanganga, Oliver Skipp and Matt Doherty. Although barring the four injured players, Antonio Contes’s side should be well-stocked for the North London derby.

Antonio Conte should probably opt for the 3-4-3 formation, with Ben Davies featuring in the heart of the Spurs’ three-man rearguard.

Tottenham Hotspur Predicted XI

Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Sessegnon; Kulusevski, Kane, Son

Key Men

Arsenal

The Gunners will rely on the creativity of Saka, Nketiah and Martinelli as they look to collectively produce a winning performance on Tuesday.

Odegaard will be tasked with creating chances for the attacking trio, whereas Ramsdale will be expected to make some solid stops at the back.

Tottenham Hotspur

Lloris will have to give a strong performance at the back if the Lilywhites are to keep a clean sheet in this game. Harry Kane will carry most of the goal-scoring responsibility.

Bentancur will be tasked with distributing the ball efficiently and creating chances for the men up front.
