Tottenham Hotspur are back in the ‘top four’ race following three successive wins against Brighton & Hove Albion, West Ham and Newcastle United. The Magpies endured a 5-1 defeat in North London and the upbeat Spurs must maintain the momentum on Saturday evening as they are set to travel to Birmingham to lock horns with Aston Villa in an intriguing Premier League outing.

Villa, on the other hand, have suffered three back to back defeats after a promising run of results under Steven Gerrard. They lost 2-1 in the reverse fixture earlier this campaign and the gaffer, therefore, must motivate the Villans to script revenge against Antonio Conte’s men.

Midfield

The Lilywhites have received a double boost with Ryan Sessegnon and Sergio Reguilon back in the team training. Reguilon is likely to reclaim the left wingback spot allowing Matt Doherty to shift down the right at his preferred role. Emerson Royal might lose his place, however, the manager might still deploy him as a second-half substitute.

Rodrigo Bentancur has earned a regular status in the centre of the pitch since his winter transfer from Juventus, also the vision and passing range of Pierre-Emile Højbjerg make them formidable in the middle of the park. Harry Winks remains the only other central midfield option available for selection due to Oliver Skipp’s absence with a groin strain.

Dejan Kulusevski, who joined on loan from Juventus, has been majestic as an attacking midfielder. The Swedish ace must operate from the right so that Son Heung-min keeps his place on the other flank. Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura might get involved at some stage as ‘super subs’.

Attack

Despite early jitters, Harry Kane is back in business with goals and assists. The English talisman must spearhead the attack and fire in a few more to meet their season objectives.
