Leeds United entertained Manchester City at Elland Road earlier this evening as they hoped to grind out a result at home. The Whites made a lackluster start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 13th minute when Rodri scored with a good header. However, Jesse Marsch’s men showed some fight and went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Nathan Ake doubled Man City’s advantage with a good finish in the 54th minute. Gabriel Jesus ended up killing the contest off in the 78th minute before Fernandinho got his name on the scoresheet with a powerful strike from outside the penalty box. The match finished with Leeds suffering a poor 4-0 loss in Yorkshire.

Let’s take a look at how each Leeds United player performed during the clash against Man City.

GK: Illan Meslier – 5.5/10

The Whites goalie made a couple of stops but won’t be pleased after allowing four goals this evening.

RB: Stuart Dallas – 5.5/10

He was sloppy with the ball and struggled to cope with Man City’s attacks. He picked up a serious injury and got replaced in the 51st minute.

CB: Luke Ayling – 5.5/10

Ayling got stuck in with some solid tackles and made a few important clearances at the back. However, he failed to keep the opposition attackers quiet during the 90 minutes.

CB: Robin Koch – 6/10

He cleared the danger when needed but looked shaky at the back at times in the second half.

CB: Pascal Struijk – 6/10

Struijk made plenty of solid tackles and even blocked a couple of shots. However, his efforts were mostly in vain as Man City still ended up scoring four goals this evening.

LB: Junior Firpo – 6/10

He had a tough time while defending inside his half and offered very little in the opponent’s half.

RW: Raphinha – 5.5/10

The Brazilian winger caused a few problems for the Man City defenders but lacked quality in the final third.

CM: Mateusz Klich – 6/10

He worked hard in both halves and was one of Marsch’s best players on the field.

CM: Kalvin Phillips – 6.5/10

Phillips made a lot of tackles and even completed a good dribble with the ball from midfield.

LW: Jack Harrison – 6/10

He worked hard defensively but never got a sniff at goal.

ST: Rodrigo – 6/10

The Spaniard got himself into some dangerous positions but lacked the cutting edge up top.

CAM: Daniel James – 6/10

He added more pace and energy to Marsch’s frontline.

ST: Joe Gelhardt – 6/10

Gelhardt went close to scoring but got denied by a super save from Ederson late in the game.

ST: Sam Greenwood – N/A

He didn’t get enough time to make an impact.
