Manchester United entertained Chelsea at Old Trafford earlier tonight as they hoped to collect maximum points at home. The Red Devils kept themselves in the contest in the first half and managed to get to the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

Marcos Alonso finally broke the deadlock for the visitors at the hour mark when he found the back of the net with a low volley. However, just minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo scored the equaliser for the Red Devils with a powerful strike. The contest ended with Man United grinding out a hard-fought 1-1 draw at the Theatre of Dreams.

Let’s take a look at how each Man United player performed during the match against the Blues.

GK: David de Gea – 7/10

The Spaniard made a handful of important saves to keep his team in the game. However, he will be disappointed after conceding the opener at the hour mark.

RB: Diogo Dalot – 6.5/10

He gave a good account of himself on the defensive third of the pitch. However, Dalot offered very little in the final third.

CB: Victor Lindelof – 7/10

Lindelof cleared the danger when needed and was a threat at the other end as well.

CB: Raphael Varane – 7/10

The French talent earned the ball back a few times and made one good chance in the opposition half.

LB: Alex Telles – 8/10

Telles didn’t put a foot wrong in the game when defending inside his half. He also engineered two good chances in the final third.

CM: Scott McTominay – 6.5/10

He anchored the midfield with conviction but struggled to influence the game going forward.

CM: Nemanja Matic – 8/10

The Serbian talent protected his backline well and picked up an assist for setting up Ronaldo’s equaliser in the second half.

RM: Anthony Elanga – 6.5/10

He had a couple of bright moments but never looked like he would score.

CAM: Bruno Fernandes – 7/10

Fernandes worked hard defensively but struggled to be effective in the attacking end of the field.

LM: Marcus Rashford – 5.5/10

The English talent failed to get a foothold in the game and produced a disjointed display in the Chelsea half.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo – 7.5/10

Ronaldo was a constant menace in the final third and scored his team’s equaliser with a good strike in the 62nd minute.

Substitutes:

CAM: Juan Mata – 6/10

He offered very little after coming off the bench.

CB: Phil Jones – 6/10

Jones was solid when defending at the back.

ST: Alejandro Garnacho – N/A

He got some valuable first-team experience under his belt.
