Manchester City entertained Atletico Madrid at the Etihad Stadium earlier tonight as they focused on picking up a positive result at home. Pep Guardiola’s men dominated the game in the first half but failed to find the cutting edge in the final third as they went into the half-time interval with a goalless scoreline.

Kevin De Bruyne finally broke the deadlock for Man City in the 70th minute when he scored with a composed finish. The contest ended with the Mancunian giants grinding out a 1-0 win in front of their home supporters.

Let’s take a look at how each Man City player fared during the match against Atletico Madrid.

GK: Ederson – 6.5/10

The Brazilian goalie didn’t have a save to make in the game and secured an easy clean sheet tonight.

RB: Joao Cancelo – 8/10

Cancelo earned the ball back a couple of times and made some driving runs with the ball down the right flank.

CB: John Stones – 7/10

The English talent was good on the ball and had a comfortable game inside his half.

CB: Aymeric Laporte – 7/10

The Spanish defender was solid at the back and was a threat at the other end as well.

LB: Nathan Ake – 7.5/10

He did well to fill in as a makeshift left-back and didn’t put a foot wrong when defending at the back. Ake even made one key chance going forward.

CM: Kevin De Bruyne – 7.5/10

The Belgian international engineered some decent openings for others around him and scored the only goal of the game with a composed finish.

CM: Rodri – 7.5/10

He anchored the midfield with conviction and was strong in the air. However, he offered very little in the opposition half.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan – 6/10

Gundogan struggled to get into the flow of the game and was replaced in the 67th minute.

RW: Riyad Mahrez – 6.5/10

He had a few bright moments in the game but didn’t do enough to register a goal.

ST: Bernardo Silva – 7/10

Silva made a few exciting runs with the ball and managed to create a few good chances for his teammates.

LW: Raheem Sterling – 6.5/10

The English winger completed a few encouraging dribbles down the left-wing but failed to find the back of the net.

Substitutes:

LW: Jack Grealish – 6/10

He made one good run with the ball.

ST: Phil Foden – 7/10

Foden picked up an assist for setting up De Bruyne’s goal.

RW: Gabriel Jesus – 6/10

He struggled to get a foothold in the game.
