Chelsea welcomed Crystal Palace at the Wembley Stadium earlier this evening as they looked to earn a positive result and book a place in the final of the FA Cup. Both sides fought tooth and nail in the first half but failed to make the decisive breakthrough as they went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek finally broke the deadlock in the 65th minute when Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored his first goal of this campaign. Mason Mount doubled Chelsea’s advantage just 11 minutes later with a good finish. The contest ended with the Blues securing a 2-0 win in the FA Cup.

The Spaniard defended well inside his half and made one good run going forward.
CM: Jorginho – 7/10
Jorginho got stuck in with some crunching tackles and made one key chance in the final third.
CM: Mateo Kovacic – 6/10
Kovacic could only last 25 minutes before he was substituted.
LM: Marcos Alonso – 7/10
The Spanish talent performed his defensive duties well and completed a decent dribble down the left flank.
CAM: Mason Mount – 7/10
Mount got his name on the scoresheet with a composed finish in the 76th minute. However, he was mostly quiet throughout the game.
ST: Kai Havertz – 6.5/10
The German attacker has a few bright moments in the opponent’s half but failed to score a goal.
ST: Timo Werner – 7.5/10
Werner created a few meaningful openings for his teammates in the final third. He has got an assist to show for his efforts.
