Liverpool clash with Newcastle United at St. James Park on Saturday afternoon as both sides look to earn all three points in the Premier League.
The Reds will be heading into the contest on the back of a 2-0 win against Villarreal in the first leg of the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, whereas the Magpies recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory over Norwich City.
Liverpool Vs Newcastle United: Talking Tactics
Jurgen Klopp will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and could ask his players to get a stronghold in the game and create enough decent chances to win the three points.
Eddie Howe will probably opt for a 4-3-3 formation and might instruct his men to keep a solid defensive shape and try to hurt the Reds on the counter.
Roberto Firmino will continue to be out of action due to a foot injury. Curtis Jones and Konstantinos Tsimikas missed the midweek clash due to illness, but they could be back for the weekend.
Liverpool Predicted XI
Alisson; Trent, Van Dijk, Matip, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Keita; Salah, Jota, Mane
Keiran Trippier and Callum Wilson are unlikely to feature in the weekend clash, along with Ryan Fraser who also remains sidelined due to injury woes.
Newcastle United Predicted XI
Dubravka; Krafth, Schar, Burn, Targett; Shelvey, Bruno, Joelinton; Almiron, Wood, Saint-Maximin
The defensive performance of Scharr and Burn could determine the fate of this game. Joelinton will have to find a way to create some decent chances in the final third to set up the men in front of the goal. Wood will have to carry the burden of putting the ball into the net.
Van Dijk and Matip need to have a good game on the defensive end of the field if Liverpool are to keep a clean sheet. Salah and Mane will have to carry most of the goal-scoring burden up top.
