Barcelona host Eintracht Frankfurt in Camp Nou for the Europa League Quarter Final this Thursday as they head into the second leg of the clash.
The First Leg Draw against Frankfurt
Ansgar Knauff’s half-volley gave Frankfurt a deserved lead, three minutes into the second half, but the introduction of Ousmane Dembélé and Frenkie de Jong just after the hour mark levelled Barcelona to a draw. The Bundesliga side was reduced to 10 men as Tuta got sent off with a late red card. Xavi Hernandez’s men seemed disappointed coming out of the match as it ended in a draw.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Eintracht Frankfurt
Defence
Marc-André Ter Stegen is likely to feature in the goal for the Catalans despite having conceded twice from penalties against Levante in the La Liga recently.
Gerard Pique might return from a minor setback that forced him out of the field in the first leg of the quarter-final. Eric Garcia will look to partner up with the veteran defender to form the centre of the backline.
Coming off with an assist in the previous match, Jordi Alba is guaranteed to start with Ronald Araujo, who will make his way on the opposite flank.
Both Sergiño Dest and Samuel Umtiti are unlikely to recover in time for the second leg due to injuries.
Midfield
Xavi’s midfield could be comprised of Sergio Busquets, Gavi and Pedri who are in excellent form as evident from their recent performances. Frenkie de Jong will find himself on the bench and might be called on if needed.
Attack
Adama Traore and Ferran Torres could acquire the wide areas, leaving Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who will lead the attack against Frankfurt.
Luke De Jong will find his name on the reserves despite him earning praise from Xavi for his late winner against Levante. Ansu Fati has come back for training after a major setback due to his knee injury but hasn’t been cleared off for first-team selection as of yet.
