In a recent report, Gianluca Dimarzio stated that Everton are facing stiff competition for Huddersfield Town youngster Levi Colwill who is currently playing on loan from Chelsea. It has been revealed that the Toffees will have to rival Leicester City, Southampton, Fulham and Huddersfield Town for the English starlet.

Colwill’s Impressive Run Of Form At The John Smith’s Stadium

The 19-year-old has been a prominent feature for the Yorkshire outfit during this campaign and has performed well at the centre of their backline. Colwill has participated in 27 matches for the English club this season across multiple competitions.

The talented teenager has proven himself to be a rock at the back for Huddersfield based on his average of 1.8 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, 4.2 clearances, 0.5 shots, 0.5 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per game in the EFL Championship. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after making 77.9% of his attempted passes in the English second division (stats via whoscored).

Everton Face Stiff Competition For Colwill: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Colwill is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back on the defensive end of the field. He can clear his lines when needed and is proficient at playing his way out from the back.

Hence, there is no denying that Colwill is a prospect to watch out for in the future. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at Goodison Park over the next decade.

However, there are some concerns over whether Colwill will be able to maintain his good form in the Premier League where he might struggle to cope with the physical nature and high intensity of top-flight football.

At 19, the future is quite bright for the English youngster as long as he continues to improve with each season. Therefore, Everton boss Frank Lampard should think about making a move to land him in the summer as he will be a great signing for the Toffees in the long run. Plus, he will have a great resale value in the future as long as he goes on to fulfill his true potential.
