Coutinho To Feature, Buendia Might Start | 4-2-3-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup Vs Norwich City

On Saturday, Aston Villa will host Norwich City at Villa Park in the Premier League. Norwich City come into the game on the back of a disappointing 3-0 loss against Newcastle United.

The Villans, on the other hand, remained grounded at a scoreless draw with Leicester City in the Premier League.

Team News

Lucas Digne is ruled out due to injury concerns. Hause, Traore and Sanson are doubtful to make it for selection.

Steven Gerrard will opt for a 4-3-1-2 formation against the Canaries. Philippe Coutinho will be playing as an orthodox No.8 to bolster Villa’s attack. Aston Villa have struggled to score in the last two matches and hence are looking to not repeat the same result. Therefore, Gerrard might opt for a two-man strikeforce in the final third.

Defence

Emiliano Martinez will start in the goal for the upcoming away encounter. The Argentine shot-stopper would hope to put up a strong performance and secure a clean sheet on Saturday.

Ezri Konsa would feature at the centre back position, along with Tyrone Mings, to form the heart of the backline.

Ashely Young starts at the left-back position as Lucas Digne isn’t expected to return anytime soon following a shoulder injury. So, Matty Cash might fill in on the opposite flank as the right-back. They will look to stretch the opposition defence and create chances for the forwards.

Midfield

Emi Buendia might get the nod ahead of a clash against his old team, and he will be positioned in the wide areas of the midfield with John Mcginn on the other side. Douglas Luiz will hold the central midfield position occupying a more defensive role.

Attack

Phillippe Coutinho will slot into the attacking midfield role in an advanced position.

Both Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings have struggled in the recent games, but they will be tasked to lead the line against the Canaries. Ings will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net alongwith Watkins.
