Aston Villa faced off against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium earlier today as they focused on securing a win away from home. Both teams fought tooth and nail in the first 45 minutes but struggled to make the decisive breakthrough as the Villans went into the half-time interval with a goalless scoreline.

The visitors kept a solid shape in the second half and managed to grind out a scoreless draw on the road.

Let’s take a look at how Aston Villa performed during the match against the Foxes.

GK: Emiliano Martinez – 7/10

The Argentine keeper made a couple of important saves at the back and secured a well-deserved clean sheet in the Midlands derby.

RB: Matty Cash – 6.5/10

Cash performed his defensive duties well but offered very little in the Leicester half.

CB: Ezri Konsa – 7/10

He made a couple of solid tackles and was not shy of clearing the danger when needed.

CB: Tyrone Mings – 7/10

Mings made a few crucial clearances inside his half and did enough work defensively to keep a clean sheet during the 90 minutes.

CM: Douglas Luiz – 6.5/10

The Brazilian protected his backline well and made one key chance in the final third.

CM: Jacob Ramsey – 6/10

Ramsey struggled to get a foothold in the game and did well to last 93 minutes.

He showed a few glimpses of what he is capable of but failed to find the back of the net.

LAM: Philippe Coutinho – 6.5/10

Coutinho made a couple of decent chances in the Leicester half but didn’t get a sniff at goal.

ST: Ollie Watkins – 7/10

The English attacker was a real threat in front of the opposition goal but struggled to finish off his chances.

He added some energy to Aston Villa’s midfield.

CAM: Emiliano Buendia – 6.5/10

Buendia had some bright moments after coming off the bench.
