Arsenal welcomed Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium earlier this afternoon as they focused on securing a good result at home. The Gunners made a poor start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the 28th minute when Leandro Trossard scored with an excellent finish. Mikel Arteta’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Enock Mwepu doubled Brighton’s advantage in the 66th minute with a brilliant strike. Even though Martin Odegaard scored a late goal, it turned out to be a consolation one as the North London outfit crashed to a disappointing 2-1 loss in front of their home fans.
Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player performed during the match against the Seagulls.
GK: Aaron Ramsdale – 5.5/10
The Gunners keeper made just one save in the game and won’t be pleased after failing to keep a clean sheet in each half.
RB: Cedric Soares – 7/10
He got stuck in with some solid tackles and created a few decent chances for his teammates going forward.
CB: Ben White – 6.5/10
White tried his best to protect his keeper but won’t be happy after conceding two goals during the 90 minutes.
CB: Gabriel – 6/10
The Brazilian talent looked shaky at the back and was a threat at the other end of the field.
LB: Granit Xhaka – 6.5/10
Xhaka made one crucial interception and picked up an assist for setting up Odegaard’s late goal.
CM: Martin Odegaard – 7/10
The Norwegian talent was unfortunate to hit the crossbar but deserves credit for scoring a late goal with a deflected attempt.
CM: Albert Sambi Lokonga – 6/10
He failed to offer enough protection for his teammates at the back but looked like a threat in the opponent’s half.
CM: Emile Smith Rowe – 6/10
Smith Rowe struggled to get into the game and got substituted after the hour mark.
RW: Bukayo Saka – 7/10
Saka caused a lot of problems for the Brighton defenders because of his creativity and dribbling.
ST: Alexandre Lacazette – 6/10
The Frenchman struggled to threaten the Brighton goal but made one key chance in the final third.
LW: Gabriel Martinelli – 6.5/10
He put his pace to good use at times but didn’t do enough to get his name on the scoresheet.

ST: Eddie Nketiah – 6/10
He was really unlucky to hit the post.
RW: Nicolas Pepe – 6/10
Pepe offered very little after coming on in the 73rd minute.
